חג החנוכה מספר סיפור של ניצחון מעטים על רבים, מכבים על יוונים, כוחות האור על כוחות החושך. במאבק להרבות את הטוב בעולם, ולחזק אותו אל מול כוחות החושך, אנחנו נקראים לראות את האתגרים שסובבים אותנו לאפשר לכל אחד ואחת להשמיע קול ולהגן על החלשים בחברה. כצוותי חינוך עלינו להביא את המורכבות הזו למרחבים בהם אנחנו פועלים. בשבוע בו נדליק את הנר השמיני של חנוכה נציין את יום זכויות האדם הבינלאומי. יום זה שמצויון כל שנה ב 10 בדצמבר מאז 1948 ומבקש לדרוש זכויות בסיסיות עבור כל אדם באשר הוא אדם ללא הבדל כלשהו. הכרזת זכויות האדם תורגמה ל500 שפות והיא המסמך המתורגם ביותר בעולם. החיבור של כיתות תאומות סביב נושאים אוניברסליים ופרטיקולריים מזמן שיח מעניין ומעמיק המאפשר אפיקים חדשים לתקשורת. החודש ריכזנו עבורכם פעילויות בנושא חופש הביטוי. כיום קיימים ערוצי ביטוי רבים העומדים לרשותנו, האחריות של כל אחד ואחת מאיתנו להשתמש בהם בתבונה.

Hanukkah tells the story of how few overcame many, Maccabees beat Greeks, forces of darkness surrendered to those of light. In our endeavors to make the world a better place, to strengthen positive forces over negative ones we are called to look out for the weak, those without a voice. As educators we bring these needs and challenges into the spaces we can influence. Hanukkah ends in the same week we mark the International day of Human Rights. the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1948 it sets out, for the first time, fundamental human rights to be universally protected. The declaration is the most translated document in the world and can be found in 500 different languages. The connection between twinned classes around universal and particular topics allows for interesting and engaging conversations, and deepens the level of their communication. This month. in our newsletter we collected activities for twinned classes about Freedom of speech. These days we have many channels of communication available to us, and we each hold the responsibility of using them wisely and responsibly.

חופש הביטוי הוא אחת מזכויות האדם הבסיסיות. רבים ורבות נאבקו על זכות זו במהלך ההיסטוריה. הנוכחות של ילדים ובני נוער כיום ברשתות החברתיות מאפשרת להם מרחב חשוב לביטוי עצמי ובמקביל מעלה את הצורך ביצירת שיח על האחריות על מה שנכתב ונשלח ברשת.
השיח על הרצון והצורך בחופש הדיבור חוצה יבשות וקהילות ויכול להניע שיח תאומותי מעניין ומעמיק. בסדרה זו ריכזנו מספר יחידות חינוכיות שיאפשרו לתלמידים ללמוד על חופש הביטוי, להבין מה דומה ומה שונה בין התפיסות של בני נוער וילדים דרך למידה ושיתוף של דעות בנושא.
Freedom of Speech is one of the basic human rights. Many have fought for this right throughout history. The presence of children and teenagers in social media these days allows them endless space to express themselves, and at the same time raises the need to have conversations about the responsibility of what gets written and sent over the web.
The conversation about the will for free speech and the need for it crosses continents and communities and can motivate a deep and interesting connection between twinned classes. In these activities we have gathered a few suggestions for such conversations, for students to learn about freedom, free speech, and the responsibilities these hold and what their peers from other places think about these matters - similarities and differences in how they perceive this topic.

A prize competition that invites twinned classes to create visual documentation of Jewish communities worldwide. Twinned classes from around the world upload photographs depicting daily life in their communities. Each pair of schools will submit an “exhibition” of student photographs.
